
"Naturally" is a sustainable food project program that is a departure from the traditional College and University food service fare. It is A'viands collaborative effort with institutions that starts with the premise that food choices have economic and ecological impact. A'viands works to foster relationships with local farmers and co-ops who actively promote lasting vitality of soil, seed, and the ecosystem. A'viands supports all levels of sustainable food programs from a cooperative effor with local growers to student organization gardens to encourage "eating locally."
"Eating locally" means eating locally grown, in season foods at their freshest and very best. Since the ingredients are at their very best. Since the ingredients are at their very best, our recipes and menu items are at their very best. We find menu items that can be simple and straight forward, highlighting the quality of the ingredients and emphasizing traditional cooking techniques. We feel this results in the best food prepared possible that will be shared and enjoyed with full and honest pleasure.
