Collaborative efforts are under way between A’viands, Hennepin County Environmental Agency and Augsburg College to implement a composting/organics recycling program effective within the Fall 2008 semester.

Materials accepted for Organics Composting at Augsburg College will include:

*All Food Waste (including meat and bones)

* All Soiled Paper Products including the following:
- Paper cups and plates
- Paper towels, placemats, and napkins
- Milk and juice cartons
- Parchment paper
- Paper bags
- Pizza boxes and other paper food containers
- Coffee filters
- Teabags
- Waxed cardboard boxes

* Other Compostable Items:
- Floral trimmings
- Plants
- Paper vacuum bags

* Certified Compostable Plastic Foodservice items
